Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week

Work setting: Rural area, and Staff accommodation available
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Swine
Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system, and Pressure washers
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in hog and pig farming, demonstrating the ability to work in dusty conditions and hot environments while being tolerant of various odors
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess excellent written communication skills and maintain organization in their work
- The candidates should be effective team players
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to handle animals, monitor animal health, and perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration
- The candidates should be able to assist with weaning, feed and tend to animals, and operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidates should also be able to ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed, recognize and treat certain livestock health problems, and perform general farm duties
