Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Experience: Candidates should have minimum four (4) years of experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix system administration, Apple OS/X operating systems, server and workstations; virtualized servers (VSphere, VMware)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be experienced with Web-based solution design and implementation, Web server administration, and application development support
  • The candidates should have a demonstrated understanding of networks, networking equipment, VLANs, VPNs, and VoIP to assist in configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
  • The candidates should possess demonstrated experience with computing equipment and software, including Unix/Linux and OS/X (workstations, servers), Windows (workstations, servers, terminal services), productivity software, multimedia software, desktop/systems management software, Internet services (i.e., email), and networking and security
  • The candidates should have experience with a variety of high-level programming languages (PHP, Java, Perl, Shell scripts, C variants)
  • The candidates should have experience troubleshooting systems and applications in a complex networked environment
  • The candidates should be experienced in installing, patching, and maintaining diverse software packages and appliances
  • The candidates should possess strong communication skills (both oral and written) to communicate effectively with both highly-technical and non-technical users
  • The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent and documented analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to work well as a team member in a multi-professional environment and as an individual contributor
  • The candidates should possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision and to act on one’s initiative
  • The candidates should hold certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CompTIA+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Admin Associate, Microsoft Certified: Systems Engineer, MCSA

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to administer and maintain both physical and virtualized systems on a variety of platforms, including Unix/Linux, Windows, and Apple OS/X
  • The candidate should be able to configure, administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve issues on a variety of platforms
  • The candidate should be able to implement daily support, administration, and maintenance of critical applications, ensuring security measures are adhered to
  • The candidate should be able to install software, perform OS updates, advise on software and hardware refresh cycles, and assist in supporting and maintaining Temerty Medicine’s networks
  • The candidate should be able to administer and maintain application, database, and storage servers used to provide a very broad spectrum of services
  • The candidate should be able to collaborate on network maintenance and network improvement/upgrade implementations
  • The candidate should be able to create and maintain virtual server solutions
  • The candidate should be able to develop and maintain development/test/production environments to support the application development cycle
