Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology (IT)
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be willing and able to participate in team-wide shift rotations to cover business needs, including “on-call” responsibilities and weekend work
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have related field with 1+ year of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
- The candidate should meet the citizenship requirements for working with Canadian federal, provincial, and/or local government agency customers, and must be able to provide valid passport documentation to verify citizenship
- The candidate should be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including successfully passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
- The candidate should have experience in clustering and resilient storage technology (clustering, storage spaces), experience with Hyper-V management and virtual machine (VM) deployment
- The candidate should have knowledge of Windows backup and VSS, and PowerShell scripting, knowledge of Active Directory topology and management, as well as experience with network tracing and analysis
- The candidate should have knowledge of Network Virtualisation technologies, including Hyper-V and Software Defined Networking (SDN), possess bilingual proficiency in verbal and written communication in both English and French
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide feedback to more upper-level engineers or the serviceability team on functionality of products based on engagements with customers
- The candidates should be able to provide feedback to the product group for product improvement
- The candidates should be able to identify potential defects and escalate them to more upper-level engineers for resolution
- The candidates should be able to apply broad knowledge of automated tools being used across other technologies and products and provide feedback for tool improvement
- The candidates should be able to identify and provide feedback to address process gaps in an effort to streamline processes and share best practices broadly
- The candidates should be able to participate in case triage meetings and/or case discussions to share knowledge with other engineers and contribute to more rapid customer solutions
- The candidates should be able to utilize learnings from triage meetings to identify and communicate readiness needs to managers or the readiness team, embody the company’s culture and values
