Salary: $20.50 hourly 35 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, willing to travel, willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods, willing to travel overnight, and willing to travel regularly
Work setting: Urban area, Rural area
Type of guide: Tour Director, escorted group travel guide, escorted individual travel guide, step-on local guide, meet and greet local guide, on-site local guide, driver-guide (local), and walking tour guide
Tours focus: Historical sites, sightseeing, bus tours, and walking tours
Number of tours guided: 10 tours and +

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Japanese, Spanish
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Geographical areas of specialization: Canada
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and capable of working under pressure
  • The candidates should be adept at meeting tight deadlines and prepared for physically demanding work
  • The candidates should have attention to detail and be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, including bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus and exhibit dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and have excellent oral and written communication
  • The candidates should display flexibility, show initiative, exercise good judgment, and demonstrate reliability while being organized team players

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to drive sightseeing or tour vehicles, confirm transportation and accommodation reservations, and collect administration or entrance fees
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate recreation activities, describe points of interest, answer questions, supply information, and resolve itinerary and other problems
  • The candidates should be able to ensure and monitor luggage transfers, assist clients with check-in procedures, develop and deliver commentaries, and utilize communication devices to provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors
