Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is the first and only railway connecting. It provides comprehensive rail transportation services, including infrastructure maintenance and capital projects. The Engineering Department ensures safety and efficiency through track renewals and public works collaboration. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform work that is physically demanding and at least 18 years of age
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions for long periods of time
- The candidates should be able to work up to 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays
- The candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise instructions or directions, including over radio
- The candidates should be able to pass the required physical job tasks for the position, written examinations, and be able to read and understand safety instructions, operating rules and regulations, and other written or printed material in English
Other Requirements:
The candidates should possess GED, a valid driver’s license and a valid Class 3 license; CL4, CL3/Air, CL2, CL1/Air licenses
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labour on an assigned area of track
- The candidates should be able to pull track spikes using appropriate tools and techniques
- The candidates should be able to apply rail anchors in accordance with safety and operational guidelines
- The candidates should be able to shovel crushed rock efficiently and safely as part of track maintenance duties
- The candidates should be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis while maintaining proper ergonomic practices
- The candidates should be able to carry out repetitive tasks with consistency and attention to safety and quality
