Transportation information: Own transportation and valid driver’s license
Work setting: Remote location, various locations, and relocation costs not covered by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Green economy sector
Equipment and machinery experience: Bobcats, concrete vibrators, reciprocating saws, circular saws, concrete saws, mortar and concrete mixers, pumpcretes, grinding machine, grouting machine, chippers, jackhammers, air compressors, air guns, nail guns, drills, small front end loaders, chain saw, compactor, forklift, sandblasters, and sledgehammer
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to work at heights
  • The candidates should be able to work underground and in confined spaces, as well as handle potentially dangerous situations
  • The candidates should be able to work in dusty environments and in cold or refrigerated environments
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be prepared for physically demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be capable of meeting tight deadlines, possess manual dexterity, and handle repetitive tasks efficiently
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and willing to work overtime as required, able to handle weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in their approach to tasks and demonstrate reliability
  • The candidates should be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades according to project requirements
  • The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as directed by supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction projects and in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, following safety protocols
  • The candidates should be able to assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs under supervision and level earth to fine grade specifications using appropriate tools and techniques
  • The candidates should be able to pave and rake asphalt to ensure smooth and even surfaces and assist in demolishing buildings safely and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or disposal and clean up chemical spills and other contaminants following safety procedures
  • The candidates should be able to remove rubble and other debris at construction sites to maintain cleanliness and safety and tend to or feed machines and equipment used in construction as required
  • The candidates should be able to direct traffic at or near construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public
