Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience and training as a qualified trades Electrician
Physical Requirements:
The candidate should be able to read and work from blueprints, sketches, and other specifications, the ability to communicate effectively with staff and others
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an Electrical Trades Certification (TQ), hold a Class B Ticket with FSR and a valid and unrestricted driver’s license with a safe driving history
- The candidate should be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of RCMP security clearance
- The candidate should have good knowledge of high and low voltage installations, pumps and controls, communication, alarm, and heat systems
- The candidate should have good knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (Part 1) and related codes
- The candidate should have good knowledge of standard practices, principles, methods, materials, codes, and equipment used in the electrical trade, a good working knowledge of applicable safety regulations
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans, and assist in preparing estimates of costs, time, materials, and equipment needed for electrical projects
- The candidates should be able to complete layouts, assemble, install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, maintain, connect, or test electrical fixtures and wiring for systems of communication, alarm, light, heat, emergency, and power inside buildings or other structures
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with other trades, including working with heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and plumbing systems
- The candidates should be able to work independently to organize and plan electrical work projects effectively
- The candidates should be able to perform heavy manual labor both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including working at high locations, perform other related duties
