Salary: $24.50 hourly for 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 6 Bridgewell Cove, Winnipeg, MB R2R 0R2, Canada
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods, willing to travel overnight
Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Communication systems experience: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), drug test
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be reliable and a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate mountain driving expertise and exhibit professionalism in customer service
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and oversee the condition of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and perform emergency roadside repairs
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and ensure tarping and the safety and security of cargo
