Salary: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 16 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Part time leading to full time
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, and Trip reports

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Cass 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, manage a large workload effectively, and be experienced in performing repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, be prepared for physically demanding tasks, and be willing to work overtime as required
  • The candidates should be comfortable with sitting for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, exercise good judgment, and be organized
  • The candidates should demonstrate reliability, be a team player, and be hardworking
  • The candidates should demonstrate patience

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan or adjust routes using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions and demonstrate professionalism in customer service
  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, and oversee the condition of the vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and conduct emergency roadside repairs
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, oversee all aspects of the vehicle, and perform preventive maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and ensure the tarping and safety and security of cargo
