Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy and oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and perform brake adjustments
- The candidates should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance, receive and relay information to central dispatch, and participate in tarping to ensure the safety and security of cargo
