Salary: $28.00 to $31.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 30 to 70 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Type of trucking and equipment: Tractor-trailer
Security and safety: Valid passport, Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with tasks that involve sitting
- The candidates should be capable of handling loads of up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be flexible in adapting to changing work conditions and reliable in consistently fulfilling job duties and commitments
- They should also be a team player, fostering collaboration and cooperation within the work environment
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, obtaining special permits and required documents for international cargo transport
- The candidates should be able to operate straight or articulated trucks, overseeing vehicle conditions, performing brake adjustments, and conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and actively participate in tarping to ensure the safety and security of cargo
