Salary: $29.50 hourly for 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Calgary, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Flexible Hours, Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should have expertise in mountain driving and demonstrate professionalism in customer service
  • The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy and be experienced in driving lighter, special-purpose trucks
  • The candidates should be capable of loading and unloading goods and obtaining special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport
  • The candidates should operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials and oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • The candidates should be responsible for paying and receiving payments for goods and be able to perform brake adjustments
  • The candidates should be capable of performing emergency roadside repairs and conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
  • The candidates should perform preventive maintenance on the vehicle and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption and be able to tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
  • The candidates should be experienced in transporting and handling dangerous goods
