Salary: $64,389.6 to $65,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 40 to 60 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend
Transportation experience: International, Long-haul, Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, and Willing to travel overnight

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, and Trip reports
Equipment and machinery experience: Tractor-trailer
Computer and technology knowledge: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone, Hard hat, and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Air Brakes Endorsement and Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
Security and safety: Valid passport, Bondable, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), and Drug test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable sitting for extended periods
  • The candidates should be capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in adapting to various work requirements
  • The candidates should be organized in managing tasks and responsibilities
  • The candidates should be reliable in completing assigned tasks
  • The candidates should be team players, fostering collaboration within the organization

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to exhibit professionalism in customer service and drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, obtain special permits and other documents required for international cargo transport, and operate straight or articulated trucks
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the vehicle’s condition, perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as transport and handle dangerous goods
