Transportation information: Local, Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, Regional, Short-haul, Drive manual transmission vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight
Work setting: Willing to relocate
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Dry bulk and Tractor-trailer
Own tools/equipment: Cellular phone and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: AZ class license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Security and safety: Valid passport, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Drug test, Medical exam
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be physically fit for demanding tasks, capable of handling heavy loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- The candidates should manage a large workload, be comfortable with sitting, and capable of handling repetitive tasks, recognizing that overtime may be required
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and exhibit excellent written communication while being organized
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns and drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, and perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle, and conduct preventive maintenance
- The candidates should be able to receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as transport and handle dangerous goods
