Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: AZ class license and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, and operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, perform brake adjustments, and perform emergency roadside repairs
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle, perform preventive maintenance, and receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo, and transport and handle dangerous goods
