Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be detail-oriented, consistently demonstrating a high level of attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads as part of their regular job responsibilities
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime when necessary to meet business demands
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling tasks that may be demanding in nature
  • The candidates should be proficient in performing repetitive tasks with precision and accuracy
  • The candidates should be comfortable sitting for extended periods as the nature of the role requires

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be equipped with efficient interpersonal skills, fostering effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders, while also being flexible and adapting readily to changing work environments and tasks
  • The candidates should be capable of exercising good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving, and be organized, efficiently managing tasks, priorities, and responsibilities

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, overseeing the condition of the vehicle and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs, as well as conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of the vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance and receive/relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and participate in tarping, ensuring the safety and security of cargo
