Salary: $26.50 hourly 35 to 50 hours per week

Transportation/travel experience: International, Long-haul
Supervision: Truck drivers

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Documentation knowledge: Bill of lading, Driver logbook, and Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed
Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, and Trip recorder (on-board computer)
Security and safety: Valid passport, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, and Drug test

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision in their work
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding role
  • The candidates should be able to lift weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as part of their job requirements

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and tasks, be organized in managing tasks and responsibilities efficiently, and be reliable, consistently fulfilling their duties and commitments
  • The candidates should be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals, be hardworking, consistently putting forth effort and dedication to accomplish tasks, and demonstrate patience in handling challenging situations and interacting with others

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations, drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, and load and unload goods
  • The candidates should be able to obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, and oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, oversee all aspects of the vehicle, and tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
