Salary: $28.00 hourly for 50 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: 34835 Champlain Cress, Abbotsford, BC, V2S 5P3
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Evening, Night, Early Morning and Morning
Work Setting: Various locations
Security and safety: Valid passport required, basic security clearance required, criminal record should checked, driving record should checked (abstract), drug test required and medical exam required
Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 years to less than 2 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Air Brakes Endorsement, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board�SIB) clearance Certificate and Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Type of trucking and equipment: Flatbed and Tractor-trailer
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail and also able to sit
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also work in an organized way
- The candidate should be reliable and also someone who can judge
- The candidate should have an excellent oral communication
- The candidate should have documentative knowledge of Accident or incident reports, bill of lading, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation and trip reports
- The candidate should have experience of communication systems like operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment and trip recorder (on-board computer)
- The candidate should have experience of transportation or travelling like international, long-haul and national transport
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should have Mountain driving expertise and Owner-operator business skills and also able to Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- The candidate should be able to Load and unload goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform emergency roadside repairs, Perform preventive maintenance, Receive and relay information to central dispatch and also Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
