Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Provincial Electrician Journeyman Trade Certificate License
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment and installations
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on safety, be self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a team environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should preferably consideration will also be given to 4th and 5th year apprentices, be knowledgeable in interpreting electrical schematics and prints
- The candidates should have previous experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in mining operations
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to repair and maintain mine equipment in accordance with workplace safety regulations and standards
- The candidate should be able to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
- The candidate should be able to maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems in underground mining environments
- The candidate should be able to install, set up, and maintain underground substations and pump stations
- The candidate should be able to inspect electrical equipment for proper performance and diagnose faults and malfunctions
- The candidate should be able to adjust, repair, or replace defective components to restore equipment functionality
- The candidate should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Electrical Supervisor, demonstrating adaptability and technical proficiency
