Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Completion of 3rd year or higher in Electrical Engineering/Engineering Science, power system option
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and should demonstrate strong organization and planning skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate commitment to customer values and Hydro One goals and objectives and demonstrate the ability to work in a project environment, under tight timelines, interfacing with other experts, as well as customers, field staff, and project managers/engineers
  • The candidates should have good written and oral communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, strong ability to interface and work with others, knowledge of basic power system components, and strong time management skills
  • The candidates must have detailed knowledge of electrical theory and principles underlying the design of electric power systems and this knowledge is normally acquired through the completion of 3 years of University engineering training
  • The candidates should be able to apply mathematical and statistical knowledge and skills to perform analytical studies on performance and design of distribution system and assets
  • The candidates should have knowledge of technical writing and enhance technical knowledge related to power systems planning and enhance development of communication skills and skills to effectively deal with technical and process issues
  • The candidates should have knowledge of power industry accepted standards and have experience with CYME Power Engineering Software, SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, and Access

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist members of the Distribution Investment Planning team and able to complete power system technical assessments
  • The candidates should be able to develop power system investment scopes to provide capacity reinforcement, reliability improvement, and/or asset refurbishment
  • The candidates should be able to identify alternatives for the connection of loads and able to present solutions, producing necessary documentation to substantiate recommendations
  • The candidates should be able to resolve problems through analysis and application of specialized technology or theory
  • The candidates should be able to prepare business cases and other business documents and able to design and document processes and improvements
  • The candidates should be able to interface with internal customers, write technical or non-technical reports, perform or assist with presentations, and assist on task tracking and completion status, among other duties
