Nature’s Route Farm based in Point de Bute, NB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Vegetable farm worker. Nature’s Route Farm was started in 2007 with no staff and limited equipment and has grown and grown. Our success relies on producing the highest quality and best tasting veggies, our dedicated staff and our committed customers. Starting as a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm we have expanded into local Farmers’ Markets as well as limited sales to like minded businesses from Halifax, NS to Woodstock, NB. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $12.75 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Point de Bute, NB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning and Morning
Work site environment: Candidates should work in fruit and vegetable combination farming, organic farming, other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), outdoors, wet or damp, odours, dusty, hot and cold or refrigerated place
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset.
Type of Crops: Asparagus, Bell peppers, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflowers, Cucumbers, Garlic, Onions, Tomatoes and Zucchinis
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to clean crop, hoe crops, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops and also harvest crops
- The candidate should be able for grading, hand harvesting vegetables, harvesting seedlings, stone and/or wood picking, vegetable culling and also weeding
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidate should be able to examine produce for quality and prepare for market
