Leisure Farms based in Sturgeon Falls, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Vegetable or Fruit Picker. Leisure Farms has been a family owned and operated business since 1981 and produces fresh strawberries, raspberries, corn and pumpkins. Our farm gives the opportunity for everyone to enjoy fresh air, view beautiful fields full of sweet red berries and the chance to connect with local or newcomers alike. Our family farm is not only a place to pick and buy fresh local produce but also a place for everyone to meet and take part in various family activities. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Vegetable or Fruit Picker is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)

Salary: $16.55 hourly for 35 to 70 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Seasonal employment
Location: Sturgeon Falls, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Early Morning and Morning
Work setting: Rural area
Work site environment: Candidates should work in fruit and vegetable combination farming, outdoors, wet/damp, dusty, hot place
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required and public transportation is not available
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates need experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, manually dexter, able to distinguish between colours and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also have efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidate should be reliable and also a team player
- The candidate should have experience of weather forecasting like agriculture
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to hand harvesting vegetables, pick row and orchard crops and also clean work area
- The candidate should be able to sort and pack fruits and vegetables and also load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry
