Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in shooting and editing
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be passionate about storytelling – they know what makes a great story and know how to tell it
- The candidates should be able to find original stories about people and issues which reflect Calgary’s exciting and diverse communities
- The candidates should be a self-starter with a can-do, solution-oriented attitude
- The candidates should have an understanding of multi-platform coverage, not confined by a ‘typical’ television reporter package
- The candidates should be able to multi-task and deliver for multiple, daily online and broadcast deadlines because news moves fast
- The candidates should be prepared to work evenings and weekends because news never stops
- The candidates should have a valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work with a dynamic team to produce creative stories that capture daily life in Calgary
- The candidates should be able to come up with original story ideas and produce original stories that they will shoot and edit
- The candidates should be able to deliver stories that stand out from the competition, emphasizing creativity over traditional methods
- The candidates should be able to ensure that their stories are digital-first and deliver for all platforms (radio, TV, and web)
