Averill Creek Vineyard LTD. based in Duncan, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Vineyard foreman/woman. Averill Creek Vineyard LTD. was established by owner Andy Johnston, who formerly worked as an MD, and wine educator in Edmonton. We are estate producers, growing the vast majority of our fruit, with a small percentage sourced within 2km. Our aim is to produce honest wines that reflect our site and the vintage, but that first and foremost give pleasure. We often employ techniques such as foot-stomping, skin contact, whole-bunch fermentation, pigeage, and lees ageing to enhance these characteristics. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Type of product: Perennials
Type of crops: Grapes
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail and also for large workload
- The candidate should be physically strong
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in an organized way
- The candidate should be a team player
- The candidate should have an excellent oral communication
- The candidate should be able to supervise 3-4 people
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and machinery like Seed drill, Sprayer or duster and also Tractor
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to soil fertility programs and also weeding
- The candidate should be able to maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes, provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment and also perform general farm duties
