Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Welding techniques: Resistance, spot, or seam; Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW); Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW); Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG); Gas metal arc welding (GMAW); Plasma arc welding (PAW); Electron beam; Fusion welds; Stud; Thermit; Tubular; Spool; Friction; Multipass; Spray; Welding plastic; Brazing and soldering; ARC spot; and Boilers
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, Brazing machine, Butt or seam resistance welding machine, Gas welding machine, Soldering machine, and Spot welding machine

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors and at heights
  • The candidates should be able to work in cold/refrigerated environments, confined spaces, and dusty conditions
  • The candidates should be able to work in hot environments, noisy conditions, and environments with odors

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience and efficiency in handling repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should possess the physical strength to handle heavy loads in a physically demanding role, exhibit manual dexterity in performing tasks with accuracy, and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • The candidates should have strong hand-eye coordination, be comfortable sitting for extended periods, and be capable of standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
  • The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications, and operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • The candidates should be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal, and operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air)
  • The candidates should be able to determine the weldability of materials, operate hoisting and lifting equipment, and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal, start up, shut down, adjust, and monitor robotic welding production lines, and maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
