Work setting: In shop
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, auto repair, and truck repair
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, gas welding machine, soldering machine, and spot welding machine
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in confined spaces and able to work in dusty, hot, and noisy environments
- The candidates should be capable of tolerating strong odours
- The candidates should be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to examine welds to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications, determine the weldability of materials, and operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal, and maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
