Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of interest to gain CWB certification
Experience: Candidates should have 1 to 2 years of welding experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds repeatedly
  • The candidates should be capable of working within confined spaces and familiar with the use of jigs and fixtures
  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have attention to detail, basic mechanical and mathematical aptitude, and strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • The candidates should be able to read, understand, and follow blueprints and welding symbols

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work order actions, or verbal instructions ensuring that tolerances are met
  • The candidates should be able to clean the work area and equipment, grinding or chipping excess metal from welded products
  • The candidates should be able to inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet quality specifications
  • The candidates should be able to read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and work orders and complete mechanical installation of bolted assemblies
  • The candidates should be able to ensure equipment and tools are in good working condition, reporting maintenance services
  • The candidates should be able to complete tasks while adhering to Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the department supervisor and work some overtime
