Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads, manually dexter, pay attention to detail and also stand for extended periods
- The candidate should have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also work in an organized way
- The candidate should have knowledge of welding techniques like Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW) and Submerged arc welding (SAW)
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and machinery like arc welding machine, brazing machine, butt or seam resistance welding machine, gas welding machine, soldering machine and spot welding machine
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment, operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines, operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC), operate hoisting and lifting equipment, operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products and also operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
- The candidate should be able to interpret welding process specifications, read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, fit, braze and torch-straighten metal, determine weldability of materials and also maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
