Salary: $23.00 to $31.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 to 48 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Overtime, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation
Work setting: Industrial and Manufacture
Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and Bilingual Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program ranging from 1 year to 2 years in duration, or possess equivalent relevant experience in the field
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication and Structural construction
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine and Gas welding machine
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing tasks effectively despite time constraints
  • The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity, demonstrating skill and precision in their work tasks
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in their work
  • The candidates should have hand-eye coordination skills, performing tasks that require precise manual movements
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods as required for certain tasks
  • The candidates should be willing and able to work overtime as needed to meet project demands
  • The candidates should be able to lift weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as necessary for certain job responsibilities

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, adapting readily to changing circumstances and tasks in the workplace

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications
  • The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  • The candidates should be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  • The candidates should be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • The candidates should be able to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • The candidates should be able to determine the weldability of materials
  • The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
