Work setting: Rural area
Type of crops: Bell peppers, Cabbage, Cauliflowers, Onions, Sweet corn
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be experienced in fruit and vegetable combination farming and be willing to work in wet/damp conditions
- The candidates should be able to tolerate noisy and dusty environments and be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, be prepared for repetitive tasks, and capable of handling heavy loads
- The candidates should be physically fit for physically demanding work and have strong attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish between colors
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, and walk as the job demands, stand for extended periods, and walk when necessary
- The candidates should be able to perform tasks that involve bending, crouching, and kneeling, be willing to work overtime when required, and be able to manage a large workload
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and exhibit flexibility
- The candidates should exercise good judgment, team player, reliable, organized and quick learner
Candidate Status:
- Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
- International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean crops, cull vegetables, fertilize and spray crops, and harvest crops
- The candidates should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, examine produce for quality, and prepare it for the market
- The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties and maintain quality control and production records, as well as maintain work records and logs
