Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a four year post secondary degree with an emphasis in accounting, business and finance
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of four years experience of related municipal and property tax work
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to provide timely completion of financial analysis and reporting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be currently enrolled in a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) program at an intermediate level
- The candidates should have successfully completed the Municipal Tax Administration Program or will complete the course within 18 months of being hired
- The candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word and Excel), which is essential
- The candidates should possess strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple and changing demands and priorities effectively
- The candidates should demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, which are essential
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to process various tax adjustments and rebate applications
- The candidates should be able to analyze arrears and produce statements
- The candidates should be able to maintain the taxes receivable ledger
- The candidates should be able to respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding assessment, tax information, tax account activity and adjustments
- The candidates should be able to establish and implement financial and accounting systems and systems of internal control
- The candidates should be able to advise and assist other tax personnel in various duties
- The candidates should be able to assist IT specialists in analyzing and correcting problems that arise in the Central Square Tax system
- The candidates should be able to be involved in property assessment valuation and should be familiar with different property valuation methods
