Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a safety-oriented work ethic supported by experience within the labour industry and at least 18 years of age
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have GED, a valid driver’s license and a valid Class 3 license, CL4, CL3/Air, CL2, or CL1/Air
- The candidates should have good written and verbal communication/comprehension skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labour on an assigned area of track
- The candidates should be able to pull track spikes, apply rail anchors, and shovel crushed rock
- The candidates should be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and perform repetitive tasks as required for track maintenance
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, direct sunlight, and snow
- The candidates should be able to work in a seasonal role, understanding that employment may be subject to seasonal layoffs
- The candidates should be able to return to work as needed, based on seniority, for the next work season
