Salary: $20.00 to $22.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1) and First Aid Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks and performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as needed
  • The candidates should have manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be punctual, dependable, and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, interpersonal awareness, and exercise judgment
  • The candidates should be reliable, a team player, and uphold values and ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs with the same goals
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, and guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discussing progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations and attend staff meetings to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
