Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Science
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years experience in the audit or pharmaceutical

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates employed by the BC Public Service must reside in BC at the time of employment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and completion of a Pharmacy Assistant or Tech Program, or community or hospital pharmacy experience, would be beneficial
  • The candidates should consider an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • The candidates should possess and maintain a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence and Government financial compliance, auditing, or investigative experience would be advantageous
  • The candidates should have experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures to determine appropriate courses of action
  • The candidates should demonstrate oral and written communication skills regarding sensitive topics, with a track record of accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion
  • The candidates should exhibit experience in collecting and organizing materials under tight deadlines with limited supervision
  • The candidates should be familiar with statistical sampling techniques and extractive audit procedures, using advanced software packages such as MicroStrategy
  • The candidates should be either completed or currently enrolled in a CPA designation program
  • The candidates should be prepared to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to conduct audits of Pharma Care paid claims to pharmacies in British Columbia
  • The candidates should be able to perform on-site and desk audits
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with PSA, HPA, PODSA, Regulation, Agreement, and Pharma Care policies
  • The candidates should be able to prepare audit reports based on Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
  • The candidates should be able to potentially identify recoveries exceeding $4 million annually through audits
