Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of CPR certification
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • The candidates should be capable of working at heights and comfortable with standing for prolonged periods
  • The candidates should have experience working with and repairing ski lifts and accustomed to walking over rough terrain
  • The candidates should be adaptable to working in all outdoor conditions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold a valid class 5 driver’s license and be comfortable operating ATVs and snowmobiles
  • The candidates should possess industry experience, including lift maintenance experience such as shutdowns and lift installation or infrastructure
  • The candidates should be reliable and have excellent communication and teamwork skills and possess a welding ticket
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of hydraulics and machining and intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder
  • The candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer systems and applications
  • The candidates should own all the required tools to perform the job and worked within the Ski Resort industry
  • The candidates should possess a valid first aid and a minimum 2nd Year Apprentice Millwright

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical or hydraulic problems with associated equipment
  • The candidates should be able to identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment, or processes
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to assembly and installation instructions outlined in vendor manuals and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in preventative and required maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment
  • The candidates should be able to maintain records of work and provide reports on all lift maintenance-related activities and assist other departments with general maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to assist in training Lift Operators to safely operate lifts and perform routine checks and assist with vehicle maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to provincial and national standards and legislation, including the Z98 Code and manufacturer’s specifications
  • The candidates should be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
