Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English, or French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Nursing
Experience: Candidates should have at least one year of experience in training in an adult learning setting, new nurse orientation program, internship or mentoring programs

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have at least three (3) years of experience in roles such as nurse practitioner, community health nurse, nurse in charge, emergency room nurse, or critical care nurse
  • The candidates should be eligible to register with CANNN (Canadian Association of Nurses in Nursing) and Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
  • The candidates should be prepared to undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check due to the highly sensitive nature of the position
  • The candidates should acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for employment and should submit proof of vaccination with their application
  • The candidates should be fluent in at least one of Nunavut’s official languages Inuktut, English, or French. Fluency in more than one language
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (Inuit traditional knowledge)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to promote quality, culturally safe nursing practice, continuous quality improvement initiatives, optimal health outcomes, and positive patient healthcare experiences as the Clinical Nurse Educator
  • The candidates should be able to assist nurses in acquiring the professional competencies necessary for their nursing roles
  • The candidates should be able to assess competencies, design learning plans, and support professional development activities for nurses
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate and deliver orientation, education, and training sessions for nurses in various roles across Nunavut
  • The candidates should be able to ensure high clinical standards are maintained by nurses delivering healthcare services, promoting equitable healthcare services throughout the territory
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the nursing education team to enhance patient satisfaction, increase public confidence in the healthcare system, and improve the health and well-being of Nunavummiut by developing and maintaining a competent nursing workforce

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get an Annual Northern Allowance $20891.00
  • The candidates will get recruitment bonuses include $5000.00 on start date, $5000.00 at 18 months of service and $10000.00 at 30 months of service.
  • The candidates will get additional premiums include a $9000.00 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375.00 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4500.00 per year
