Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a degree in a natural resource field
Experience: Candidates should have experience in negotiating or mediating solutions in natural resource management
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to conduct field work, which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, air, or foot, overnight or extended stays in rough camp conditions, and outdoor work in all weather conditions
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have an equivalent combination of education and experience and advanced experience with resource management processes
- The candidates should have comprehensive experience (field or office) working in resource management
- The candidates should have successfully completed security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a Criminal Records Check, Criminal Records Review Act (CCRA) check, and enhanced screening checks as required by the Ministry
- The candidates should meet safety standards of WorkSafe BC and a valid B.C. driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead the Water Approvals Team in the Permitting Transformation Division (PTD), Authorizations Branch, managing resources, planning workloads, and making key decisions on applications for changes in and about streams
- The candidates should be able to oversee a range of projects, from private moorage installations to flood mitigation works, supporting community benefits and sustainable development
- The candidates should be able to engage in collaboration with diverse partners and First Nations, gaining insights into different perspectives and interests
- The candidates should be able to conduct desktop reviews and perform field visits to obtain firsthand insights into project sites
- The candidates should be able to navigate endless learning opportunities and challenges, making each day unique and rewarding
