Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1)
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, handle physically demanding work, and have attention to detail
• The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be punctual, dependable, and flexible
• The candidates should have interpersonal awareness

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and provide personal care, including assistance with daily living activities
• The candidates should develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children and engage in storytelling and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
• The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment, order supplies and equipment as needed, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
• The candidates should guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
• The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors and supervise and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
