Target audience: Toddler to pre-school (1 – 3 years), School age (6 – 12 years), Infant (3 months – 11 months)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education:Â Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials:Â First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child abuse registry check, Child welfare check, Criminal record check, Drug test, Medical exam and Reference required
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, work overtime, and perform physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and pay attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be client-focused, be efficient in interpersonal skills, be excellent in oral communication and be excellent in written communication
- The candidates should be flexible, be able to take initiative, be able to demonstrate good judgment and be organized
- The candidates should be reliable, be a team player, be able to manage time effectively, be patient and be honest
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to change diapers, follow parents’ lead with toilet training, and sterilize bottles and prepare formulas
- The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
- The candidates should be able to travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, and bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- The candidates should be able to discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
- The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, organize activities such as games and outings for children, and prepare and serve nutritious meals
- The candidates should be able to prepare infants and children for rest periods, supervise and care for children, and take children to and from school and to appointments
- The candidates should be able to tend to emotional well-being of children and cook
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
