Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye co-ordination
  • The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, outdoors, in/on water, and cold/refrigerated area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be flexible, and judgmental

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to feed aquaculture stock, write daily basic progress reports
  • The candidates should be able to cull, mark or tag stock and report stock irregularities, operate, maintain and clean pumps, filters and other aquaculture equipment
  • The candidates should be able to clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures, transfer stock to tanks in trucks and pack stock in special containers
  • The candidates should be able to rake and gather marine plants, spread and dry marine plants
  • The candidates should be able to transport marine plants to processing plants, dig shellfish from shellfish beds
  • The candidates should be able to clean, sort and pack shellfish, grade and weigh aquaculture stocks
  • The candidates should be able to assist aquaculture technicians in the operation of fish hatcheries or other aquatic farms
