Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have post-secondary coursework in business or office administration, project management, natural resource management, mineral exploration, environmental science social science, environmental assessment or related field
Experience: Candidates should have experience working in a client service setting, providing information to and working collaboratively with the general public and diverse client groups
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have willingness to travel to Yukon communities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience researching and drafting correspondence for review
- The candidates should have experience updating and maintaining databases and filing systems according to internal standards
- The candidates should have experience working with land or resource management legislation/regulatory documents, preferably in a government setting
- The candidates should have experience working with Indigenous groups to share and gather information on Indigenous rights, interests, values, and concerns. Well-developed interpersonal skills and self-motivation
- The candidates should possess organizational and communication skills and should have attention to detail
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work on a team and collaborate with colleagues co-located and/or remotely
- The candidates should have strong task management skills and a sense of personal accountability and should demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing work demands
- The candidates should possess the ability to analyze information and records and make recommendations based on their findings
- The candidates should have the ability to accept and process documents, applications, and/or payments from members of the public based on set criteria
- The candidates should have proficiency in computer programs, including the MS Office suite and database software
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate government response to assessment recommendations on mineral exploration projects
- The candidates should be able to develop Decision Documents and approvals and provide advice and guidance for the acquisition and retention of mineral title to the mining community
- The candidates should be able to evaluate, process, and make recommendations for the acceptance or rejection of applications
- The candidates should be able to assist in the day-to-day client service of the mining recorder’s office
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for the disposition and administration of mineral resources within the Yukon
- The candidates should be able to provide education and outreach on the regulatory regime to support responsible mining land use and mineral planning and development to the mining industry, communities, and governments
