The Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC) Department of Information Technology Services manages finance, HR, and corporate systems. The TTC plays a crucial role in maintaining the commission’s operational effectiveness and meeting the needs of its employees and customers. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have extensive hands-on experience and expert knowledge of Payroll and Benefit business processes

  • The candidates should have extensive hands-on experience in configuring SAP in a professional environment on SAP ERP, with expert knowledge on Payroll & Benefit configuration and Payroll processing
  • The candidates should have participated in multiple full life cycle large-scale SAP project implementations in the HR Payroll domain
  • The candidates should possess a deep understanding of SAP Canadian Payroll (PY-CA) and Benefits (PA-BN)
  • The candidates should have experience in year-end payroll activities and Canadian year-end reporting
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience in supporting enterprises with multiple unions/bargaining units and complex payroll rules
  • The candidates should have hands-on experience in the design and development of SAP Payroll schemas and PCRs
  • The candidates should have hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience in CATS or other third-party time entry systems, time evaluation, and time integration to the Payroll process
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of SAP Payroll processing, including but not limited to Overpayment recovery, Garnishments, Deductions, Arrears, Taxes, and SAP Retro calculation functionality
  • The candidates should have hands-on experience and knowledge of ABAP, FIORI, which is an asset
  • The candidates should have hands-on experience and knowledge of SAP Success Factors and integration with SAP ECC, which is an asset
  • The candidates should possess a combination of strong technical and business skills
  • The candidates should possess SAP Certification appropriate to the area of expertise, which is considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan and conduct feasibility studies, develop systems business requirement definitions, develop systems designs, direct system build and implementation, and develop methods and procedures for systems of major complexity. They should be able to formulate logical statements of administrative, scientific, and/or technical problems and devise solutions
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement new computer systems and enhance old systems by assessing business problems and requirements, and lead the process in providing and implementing computer systems solutions
  • The candidates should be able to lead the technical analysis, provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for business engagement through the entire project development lifecycle
  • The candidates should be able to plan, supervise, and direct work to ensure the technical team acquires sustainable knowledge, skills, and technical competencies, and that the goals and objectives of the section are achieved
  • The candidates should be able to promote a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. They should provide leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs, and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies
