Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English or French Language
Education:Â Candidates should have a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an office environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess fluency in both Inuktitut and English for the position
- The candidates should have knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and proficiency in Inuktut
- The candidates should have experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment
- The candidates should be aware that acceptable combinations of education and experience will be considered
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide efficient and consistent delivery of administrative support within the department, specifically the Community Corrections branch of the Department of Justice and Parole services
- The candidates should be able to provide receptionist, administrative, office management, and other support services to the Community Corrections branch
- The candidates should be able to primarily support the day-to-day operations of the Community Corrections office and indirectly support the operations of other regions of Community Corrections across Nunavut
- The candidates should be able to ensure the smooth, professional, and courteous operation of the Community Corrections reception area by adding consistency to the communication process and ensuring all callers and visitors are treated professionally
- The candidates should be able to direct all incoming telephone calls and emails professionally, greet and direct visitors and clients to the building, manage incoming and outgoing mail, coordinate deliveries and pick-ups with local cartage companies, and assist Community Corrections with data entry assignments, records management, and financial verifications
