Salary: $25.95 to $29.76 hourly (To be negotiated) for 15 to 28 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Courtenay, BC
Shifts: Evening, Weekend, Shift, 15:30 to 22:30
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Vehicle supplied by employer, and Travel expenses paid by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check, Tuberculosis test, and Adult Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure and perform repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be able to pay attention to detail and stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to perform a combination of sitting, standing, and walking and engage in bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • The candidates should be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should focus on clients, be dependable, and demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should communicate excellently orally, be flexible, and take initiative
  • The candidate should have interpersonal awareness, use good judgment, and be organized
  • The candidate should be reliable, a team player, and have patience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties related to personal care and take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
  • The candidates should be able to make beds and maintain patients’ rooms and supervise patients’ exercise routines
  • The candidates should be able to answer call signals to determine patients’ needs and administer first aid in emergency situation
