Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology from a Transport Canada approved institution
Experience: Candidates should have experience working on Beech turbine aircraft

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid Canadian Passport and be willing to travel frequently, both scheduled and unscheduled, throughout the Province for inspections and breakdowns
  • The candidates should be prepared for aircraft standby as a regular part of the position and able to work weekends occasionally
  • The candidates should recognize that the demands of the job may occasionally result in considerable fatigue
  • The candidates should regularly be able to lift or move objects weighing less than 10 lbs and objects weighing 10 – 25 lbs and occasionally be required to lift or move objects weighing 25 – 50 lbs. and over 50 lbs., such as moving a Q2 cart to replenish oxygen to an aircraft
  • The candidates should be capable of standing regularly and occasionally sitting, walking, climbing, driving, and working in awkward or cramped positions, including driving a tractor to move heavy aircraft or working in a gear well and work at heights, which is also involved in this position
  • The candidates should have the ability to make independent decisions and solve problems and able to manage time and tasks effectively

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid Transport Canada M1 and M2 license and experience with maintenance and structural repairs, avionics and hydraulic systems, and turbine operation
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of maintenance and structural repairs, avionics and hydraulic systems, and turbine engine operation
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) and understand related safety regulations, policies, and practices and knowledge of WinAir
  • The candidates should demonstrate relationship-building skills and the ability to work as part of a team and the ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform maintenance work involving the inspection and repair of Government aircraft, including engines, airframes, and electrical systems, to ensure airworthiness, industry best practices, and Transport Canada Standards
  • The candidates should be able to conduct daily and periodic inspections, reviewing, recording, accepting, and certifying the completion of all inspections, snag clearances, minor and major repairs, and modifications in accordance with the Departmental Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
  • The candidates should be able to maintain appropriate maintenance logs documenting all inspection and repair activities
  • The candidates should be able to supervise the work of aircraft mechanics to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and perform other related duties
