Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in hog production
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously, the ability to lift 25kg
- The candidates should have a valid driver’s license and the ability to commute to a rural work location, a willingness and ability to learn, along with strong team and interpersonal skills and be available to work weekends, holidays, and attend alarms on a rotational basis
- The candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a positive work ethic and attitude with attention to detail
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have strong oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with all areas of production, including feeding and providing general care for pigs, maintain herd health and ensure a proper environment for the pigs
- The candidates should be able to perform pressure washing and prepare rooms and conduct general maintenance and cleaning duties
- The candidates should be able to handle clerical tasks such as maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication
- The candidates should be able to work effectively as part of a team to achieve specific production goals
- The candidates should be able to adhere to health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace
- The candidates should be able to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding the humane treatment of animals in their care
