Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a willingness and ability to learn and strong team and interpersonal skills
- The candidates should be self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- The candidates should have a positive work ethic and attitude, with attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills
- The candidates should have the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously and lift 25kg
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid driver’s license and the ability to get to and from work located in a rural area
- The candidates should be willing to work weekend, holiday hours, and alarm attending on a rotational basis and experience in hog production
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist with all areas of production, including the feeding and general care of pigs, ensuring their health and wellbeing
- The candidates should be able to maintain herd health and the environment for pigs, ensuring cleanliness and safety at all times
- The candidates should be able to perform pressure washing and prepare rooms for animal care, ensuring hygiene standards are met
- The candidates should be able to handle general maintenance, cleaning, and clerical duties, including but not limited to maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication
- The candidates should be able to work as part of a team, focusing on achieving specific production goals while adhering to health and safety policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to follow MLAF SOPs regarding the humane treatment of animals under their care
