Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of the twelfth school grade or GED
Experience: Candidates should have 1 year of relevant experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should hold either a degree in a related discipline OR a post-secondary diploma in a related discipline and 2 years of relevant experience and 4 years of relevant experience
  • The candidates should have technical experience in a computing environment similar to that of the City of Edmonton, involving complex and highly diverse data, application, and technology environments. They should be familiar with hybrid environments of cloud and on-premise data, applications, and technologies
  • The candidates should demonstrate a proven ability to evaluate complex business process alternatives and translate those processes into a system design, considering cost to build and support, as well as audit requirements
  • The candidates should possess the ability to complete software development and support and to conduct system software maintenance tasks
  • The candidates should have experience with SaaS Applications, ORACLE / PLSQL, Python, Javascript, Web services, .NET, Bootstrap, CSS, JQuery, Web API, JSON, REST/SOAP, Crystal, XtraReports, PowerShell, and/or Web security, computronix POSSE certifications
  • The candidates should have a good understanding of recognized industry bodies of knowledge, both generic and specific, and a desire to actively seek new knowledge for personal development and mentoring or coaching others and to actively maintain knowledge in one or more identifiable specialisms
  • The candidates should communicate fluently, both verbally and in writing, and be able to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The candidates should demonstrate proven time management skills and the ability to plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet time and quality targets
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently or as part of a team and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives
  • The candidates should demonstrate alignment with the Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated, and Excellent, fostering an environment for others to do the same

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform solution delivery and operational maintenance for assignments with established procedures or support of a vendor or senior resources expertise, as well as supporting projects as part of the team
  • The candidates should be able to carry out agreed operational procedures, including application configuration, installation, maintenance and complete research and feasibility studies
  • The candidates should be able to identify and resolve issues with applications following agreed procedures they should use application management software and tools to collect performance statistics
  • The candidates should be able to investigate problems in systems, processes, and services assist with the implementation of remedies and preventative measures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor support tickets and perform ticket triage, responding to application or infrastructure-related issues, unusual, or other situations that impact system performance they should perform diagnostics and other problem-solving activities and implement remedial procedures
  • The candidates should be able to review requirements and specifications and define test conditions and to provide support on the use of existing methods and tools
  • The candidates should be able to analyze, develop, and maintain technology systems, including operational performance requirements, database, standards, and documentation
  • The candidates should be able to apply tools, techniques, and processes to administer, track, log, report on, and correct configuration items, components, and changes
  • The candidates should be able to maintain ongoing awareness of, and contribute to, reporting for issues escalated to the vendor for support
  • The candidates should be able to develop a training plan in concurrence with the Team Lead and Manager that ensures the ability to develop and support applications throughout all lifecycle stages
