Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have five years of journalism experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to analyze, synthesize, and think critically about complex issues and legally entitled to work in Canada
- The candidates should have newsroom assignment experience, the ability to work well under pressure and independently
- The candidates should have the ability to comply with the requirements for a healthy work environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have extensive general knowledge, in-depth knowledge of Quebec, national, and international affairs
- The candidates should have knowledge of newsroom logistics, excellent knowledge of French, with advanced proficiency in English
- The candidates should have knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada Journalistic Standards and Practices
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coordinate the work of reporters covering regional, national, or international news across various platforms
- The candidates should be able to vet and edit reporters’ copy to ensure accuracy and adherence to journalistic standards
- The candidates should be able to consult, plan, assign, and coordinate newsgathering resources for impactful news coverage
- The candidates should be able to ensure all reporting aligns with CBC/Radio-Canada Journalistic Standards and Practices
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate initiative and sound editorial judgment while reporting directly to the Managing Editor
