Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have should have graduate level training (Master/PhD-level or equivalent training) in a relevant area of research that is aligned with Sunnybrook Research Institute’s programs or platforms in evaluative clinical sciences, biological sciences or the physical sciences
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be individuals with a strong track-record of research productivity and clinical training, focusing on upper limb conditions and related orthopaedic trauma surgery
  • The candidates should be Surgeon-Scientists with clinical fellowship training in distal upper extremity reconstruction/trauma (i.e. elbow/forearm/wrist +/- hand)
  • The candidates should be expected to establish an academic surgical practice and focus their clinical activity on upper extremity reconstruction and orthopaedic trauma surgery
  • The candidates should be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in the Department of Surgery, Temerty Faculty of Medicine
  • The candidates should be committed to dedicating at least 70% of their time to formal academic activities, aligning with the academic focus of the Division and the Department of Surgery
  • The candidates should be expected to develop a research profile and contribute to the academic mission of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Holland Bone and Joint Program, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, Department of Surgery, and Sunnybrook Research Institute
  • The candidates should possess academic expertise in health services/clinical research, quality improvement, education research, and translational ‘bench-to-clinic’ discovery research
  • The candidates should participate in the education of learners at all levels as a member of the Department of Surgery and the University of Toronto, demonstrating evidence of excellence in teaching and research
  • The candidates should join an academic Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • The candidates should also be eligible for appointment as a Scientist in Sunnybrook Research Institute
