It manages communication between the territorial government and other levels of government, ensuring effective collaboration and policy alignment. It fosters partnerships and advocates for Nunavut’s interests at the national and international levels. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of Inuktut, English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration or related field
Experience: Candidates should have five (5) years of management experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in the provision of program evaluation and project management initiatives
  • The candidates should have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut
  • The candidates should have experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to serve as a key senior-level resource to the DM, providing a cross-departmental perspective and input on key strategic initiatives, and contributing significantly to setting the Department’s overall direction
  • The candidates should be able to support and participate in committees relevant to the activities of the Department, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives
  • The candidates should be able to oversee the Executive and Intergovernmental Affairs’ Access to Information and Privacy Protection (ATIPP) division and provide oversight of ATIPP across the Government of Nunavut
  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for the Bureau of Statistics, including the GN’s statistical and evaluation program, ensuring that services and supports provided reflect and align with Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit principles
